Thank you so much Joaquin! Thank you so much for making the time to leave me a comment. I look forward to reading your Stack and YES to keeping a level head and focusing on the work instead of the outcome. I loved reading ML Ronn's "Be A Writing Machine" (1 and 2) for further inspiration and more nuts and bolts writing advice on how to get out of your own way and write more. Much love!
She had a chapter about perseverance, which gave me the tools I needed to shift the balance. There was also an overall quality of humility to her book which helped me drop some of my self-importance and just simply pick one project and focus on it. And that amazing story of the young man at the costume party in France! Very helpful in allowing me to accept my gifts, whatever they may be. Thanks for asking!
Big Magic was the book that took me from having tons of ideas to actually being able to choose one and bring it in for a landing. Thanks for your piece.
I love that book so so much! If you haven't experienced EG reading it on audio, I highly recommend. Her delivery is flawless! Thank you so much for making the time to comment.
I'd actually love to hear which insights from the book helped you "land" your projects instead of just keeping them in the idea stage.
I loved "Big Magic" by Elizabeth Gilbert, and of course Eat, Pray, Love. I read Big Magic when I first started on my 'stack and it has helped me to maintain a level-head regarding my creativity and manage expectations regarding audience impact, which has helped me to maintain a daily writing practice that I'm proud of the last few months. I bet that conference was amazing and I love her note taking / poem writing advice and I loved your poem as well!
