Why I started a Substack
I needed another long term project like a fish needs a self help book.
I didn’t start this Substack to grow fast.
I started it because I needed a place to grow slowly. Deliberately. Sustainably.
A place where the signal could rise above the noise.
So I could map my own becoming as it unfolds.
I’m a midlife entrepreneur.
Which means:
I’ve built things. Burned them down.
Outgrown strategies that used to work.
Watched my ambition evolve into something quieter… but no less fierce.
These days, I’m not chasing scale for the sake of it.
I’m building something antifragile.
A business that compounds even in chaos.
Work that feels honest, coherent, and deeply human.
That’s what this Substack is for.
An archive.
A living library.
A corner of the internet where clarity matters more than hype.
What you’ll find here:
Stories from the frontlines of building a post-capitalist business in a capitalist world.
Quiet revolutions in how we think about messaging, strategy, growth, and sufficiency.
Tools for midlife entrepreneurs who’ve outgrown the formulas and are learning to dance with the uncertainty that precedes a new way of being.
Essays on antifragility, 80/20 thinking, and finding your real signal.
Occasionally: personal updates, experiments, poems and behind-the-scenes reflections.
Plus:
I'll share my YouTube videos - both short and long form - right here so you don’t need to fight the algorithm to find them.
Why now?
Because YouTube is a great discovery platform.
But Substack is a place for depth (my favourite)!
A place for:
Ideas that need more room to breathe.
Conversations that don’t fit neatly onto thumbnails.
Clients and collaborators who don’t want to scroll—they want to sink in.
If you’ve ever found yourself saying:
“I know I’m good at what I do, but I can’t seem to explain it clearly.”
“I’ve outgrown my business, but I’m scared to burn it all down.”
“I’m tired of pretending I don’t care about money—but I don’t want to sell my soul either.”
“I want to scale but more than that, I want to resonate.”
This space is for you.
Let’s build something that lasts.
Subscribe if you want stories, tools, and signal-rich reflections that help you build a business that’s clear, calm, and compounding—even in chaos.
Much of what I publish is free and if you want to go even deeper, consider joining the Clarity Collective, currently just $9/month.
It won’t be loud.
It will be real, deep and bursting with meaning.
